We built vibenews.news to make you feel better about the world, not worse about your data. Here's everything you need to know about how this site works, what it collects (almost nothing), and where the stories come from.
vibenews.news (trading as Unicorn Signal) is operated from South Africa. For the purposes of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), the responsible party and Information Officer can be reached at the contact details below.
Effectively nothing. Specifically:
Like most websites, we rely on third-party infrastructure that may process limited technical data:
Our daily fun fact is generated by an AI language model (Cloudflare Workers AI). No personal data is used as input for this generation. The AI creates general-interest content about animals, nature, and human kindness.
We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 18. Our site is designed to be safe and family-friendly.
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (South Africa), you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you. Since we don't collect personal information, these rights are effectively pre-satisfied — but if you have questions or concerns, please contact us.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation provides you with additional rights including access, rectification, erasure, and data portability. Again, since we don't collect personal data, these rights are substantively met by default.
If we ever start collecting personal data (for example, if we add user accounts, email subscriptions, or analytics), we will update this policy before doing so and note the changes here. The effective date at the top of this section will be updated accordingly.
For privacy enquiries or POPIA-related requests, contact our Information Officer at: privacy@vibenews.news
vibenews.news is a news aggregation dashboard that collects headlines and summaries from publicly available RSS feeds published by third-party news organisations. We add a "Goodness" score (1–10) based on an algorithmic assessment of how positive or constructive each story appears. We also generate a daily fun fact using AI.
Story headlines, summaries, and links are sourced directly from RSS feeds published by third-party news organisations. We display this content as-is (with minor formatting) and link back to the original source. We make no representation about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any third-party content.
The daily fun fact is generated by an AI language model. While we aim for accuracy, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors. Fun facts are intended as entertainment, not as authoritative scientific or factual claims.
Goodness scores are computed algorithmically based on keyword analysis, scale signals, and source credibility indicators. They represent a rough measure of positivity and are not editorial endorsements.
The vibenews.news site design, layout, code, brand identity, and Goodness scoring system are our original work. Story content displayed on the site belongs to the respective publishers (see Content Sources below).

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from the use of this site shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be noted by updating the effective date above.
vibenews.news fetches stories from RSS feeds published by reputable news organisations focused on positive, constructive, and solutions-oriented journalism. Each story is scored on our Goodness scale (1–10) using keyword analysis and other signals, then presented in a curated dashboard format.
We display only the headline, a brief summary (typically under 400 characters), the source name, and a direct link to the original article. Full article content is never republished on our site.
Our current RSS feed sources include:
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a format specifically designed to allow content to be distributed, aggregated, and displayed by third-party services. Publishers who maintain RSS feeds do so with the understanding that their content will be consumed by feed readers and aggregators.
We respect the intent of RSS by:
If you are a publisher and would like your content removed from vibenews.news, or if you'd like to discuss how your feed is displayed, please contact us at sources@vibenews.news. We'll respond promptly and respect your wishes.
If you publish positive or solutions-oriented journalism and would like your RSS feed considered for inclusion, we'd love to hear from you at the same address.
Each story receives a Goodness score from 1 to 10, computed algorithmically. The scoring considers positive and negative keyword signals, evidence of tangible impact, scale of the story, source credibility, and regional relevance. Scores are not editorial endorsements and do not reflect our opinion on the quality of the underlying journalism.
A score of 10 ("Unicorn Goodness") indicates a story with exceptionally strong positive signals across multiple factors — typically major breakthroughs, large-scale recoveries, or historic firsts.
